Kind of on the subject of this thread, but depending on the option level,
many cheaper cars in Euro-Land come with only one external door lock on
the drivers side. Not much of a problem here in the US, but when I was
in Sicily I had to park a Punto on the "street", which was originally
designed for a maximum width of 2 Roman horses arses. Parked with the
drivers door about 1/2 inch from the wall and got out on the passenger
side. Only to find there was no door tumbler on the passenger side to
get back in the car. Luckily these glorified sardine cans they call
compact cars are easily lifted by the driver and a couple of good
Samaritans when need be.
