Fay, dish soap (dawn, for example) actually strips the wax away. Car soap is what you normally want to use unless you plan on claying or buffing the car... Then dish soap is appropriate.

this is the second time I have heard of Clay ...
I have put nothing on my car except a tiny amount of soap
and used a GOOD soft mit to lift the dirt.
My wax job is almost gone ...
someone recommended
something # 7
to fill in cracks for gloss
is this the same as clay
what sort of clay product do I look into.
I have not done anything yet to my nice car
except order some nice way with no cleaners in it.

I don't plan to sue anyone, I am just looking for opinions
as I think the last time I waxed a car was in the
70s ....
