Better Mileage Audi A6

You'd have to reprogram the ECU for a cat delete, and the rear sensors (post cat) can be deleted. The reason there are 4 sensors is to verify and optimize cat performance. Obviously this is an illegal mod for a street car, but the chip tuners can accommodate. Is the engine burning oil? Vag-com can be used to watch the sensor inputs. BTW, I'd put the coolant temp sensor and thermostat at the top of the list, as well as dirty or worn injector. Techron is your easy friend there.

Subject: Better Mileage Audi A6
Hello everyone,
I have a 2000 Audi a6 2.8 that currently is getting 16.4 mpg. It has to do better than this. The car is great!! And has 176,000 miles and original MAF sensor and all 4 oxygen sensors. I want to change all 5 sensors and hope the mileage gets better. I also already changed the plugs and wires to help. I also was hoping to empty the cats for some better airflow.(I did this to my 1993 90cs v6 and it sounded great, but didn't pay attention to the mileage then). Does anyone have any thoughts or advice on this??
