Stumble

Thanks for the response, Brian.... I think the harness is okay, as it 'clicked' right in when I reinstalled the plug, and the ESP
light went off as well. I assume it would not do that if the wiring was somehow messed up...?

If I had an air leak would that affect the idle? The car idles very smoothly. The only symptom is that 'stumble' around 2500 rpm
that goes away with the MAF unplugged.

Dan, The ECU(s) look to the MAF to calculate load, so the traction control won't like it when you disconnect it. As for your better running condition, just beware that you could have an air leak somewhere and disconnecting the MAF goes to pre-programmed igntition timing/fueling and might be a false positive, so before you go buy a new MAF, just give a thorough look to all your hoses. Also, I recently fixed a MAF plagued customer who had a wild DIY streak. He broke the MAF harness and killed 2 (ebay) MAF's before towing it to me. Bought a new MAF, harness, re-pinned it, and the car was happy. Worth a look there too, to make sure the pins are tight.

good luck.
