2.8 30v dies when coming to a stop (just once in a while)

98 A4 Avant 2.8 30v 5-speed.
The car is running perfect except just recently (the last 3 days) when I am coming to a stop and push in the clutch the motor dies. This has only happened once a day and a quick pop of the clutch brings everything back to life. This car is an absolute brick to stop or turn without the motor running, I would hate to have this happen when the wife is driving it. Obviously the fuel is shut off when decelerating but should come back on at a certain RPM and doesn't. There are no codes thrown. Where should I be looking?
