I've tried various locations for mounting, and it really depends on what you are looking to do. The quarter panel can give a cool perspective of turns and gives the appearance of being fast. On the front of the hood, it's like being at the front of the roller coaster, but really doesn't give much perspective. I ended up putting the camera at the front of the roof just above the windshield, dead center above the rear view mirror. I run with the open back, so that you can hear the engine sounds as well. I use the 720 60fps setting for best video (IMO), and try to keep other cars in the movie to give perspective to speed and turns. After 1 lap solo, no matter how fast you are, the attention span of your audience gets lost quickly. Put other cars in the mix, spectators will hang longer.

Thanks Scott,
Where do you install your GoPro for best effect ? I have a front mount in
the center of the grille, one inside the top of the winshield, but I'd like
a bit more "action" with the car in the picture. Event at Mecaglisse is this
Sunday.

Plenty of U-tube action is already up under the USAC banner on that site,
more will follow once I get my HD GoPro downloaded and edited.
