That's a riot Tom! That reminds me of doing some repairs on my first car, a 1967 MGB. I was replacing the water pump and after everything was apart I could not find the WP gasket. In a hurry to get the car back on the road I carefully traced and cut my own gasket out of a Dixie paper plate. It never leaked a drop in the couple years I owned it since.
