Try posting your questions on QuattroWorld's regional forum for the
Rocky Mountains.
I wouldn't think the suggested plugged cat would cause this for a 2004,
but tapping on it definitely would indicate whether there's loose
ceramics inside. Fuel pump would be more likely for the driving
symptoms described. There are lots of issues with the Tiptronic trannies.
