VW Diesel Transplant?

Of course I'm thinking of running it on WVO. I've been running it in my 
Mercedes 300SDL for the past eight years, and am in the process of 
converting my Unimog, too. I don't want anything electrical, because I'm 
more familiar with mechanical injection pumps.

My 5KTQ avant needs a new turbo (again, due to abuse of the shrapnel knob), 
and with the cost of premium fuel here at $6.80 a gallon (roughly US$7.17 
per Canadian gallon!) I'm looking for an affordable winter car. I don't want 
to use Audi's dog of a diesel, so I'm looking for something more reliable.

At the moment this is just a thought experiment, but I've got all summer to 
do the swap, so who knows what I'll come up with.
