A6 seats

I'm in the market for a A6 C6, probably a 2005 through 2008. A couple of cars that I have looked at have quite badly worn driver's seats - the seat bolster nearest the door was deformed and the leather (or is it vinyl?) cracked. This in cars with only about 60,000 miles - not good. My 1999 A6 with over 150,000 miles has near perfect seats. Is this problem common with the C6 model? Is it possible to fix the problem without breaking the bank?
