2001 A4 2.0T tip oil light question

I was about to say the same thing. That is exactly what it sounds like. And,
it's time to drop the oil pan and clean out the pickup tube. Done a lot of
these myself, and it's no big deal usually. I've seen some sort of camshaft
bearing surface damage in every one that I've dealt with. However, several
of them have 10's of throusands of miles on them after the repair, so it's
certainly nothing to get worried about. I've not had any of them fail,
before or after. However, I have had to replace the head on one that was
driven constantly until the cams locked up.
