Having worked recently on a window regulator of another car, I suspect you'd
have to lift the glass and hold it up, so its weight is not on the
regulator, before you can align the mounting holes. On a CQ best would be
with an assistant (human) to hold it up - a strong enough and patient
person. Otherwise it's taped to the door frame.
If relieving the weight does not give enough slack to align the motor, the
glass must be detached form the regulator, usually 2 point hold it with some
sort of clips.
Shouldn't be a hard job, just finicky - aligning and avoiding breakage of
plastic pieces.
