Buy the mounts as fuel filter mounts for a 86 4000Q from AutohausAZ.com.
Sounds like it may be time to rubuild that regulator. The cable inside may
be fraying, a lot of the time that's what the crackling sounds are. The
cable starts catching itself as it's turning. Anyhow, hopefully that's not
it, and it's just the mounts. BTW, they are about $2 each, and they are
elsewhere on your car as well. Won't hurt anything to buy some extras. I
think I keep about 20 of them here in the shop at all times.
