Thanks Kent.
Do you remember what your mechanic used?   I saw some 45 degree, 3/4" copper 
tubing. That and a couple hose clamps might work. "U" shaped would be nice. 
Does anyone know I.D.? I know most U.S. heater hose is 5/8".

Man when that thing blew, I thought the wife had put an IED under the dash.

We don't hate you, we envy you. Except for your heater core problem.

You don't want to just plug the ends. You want to complete the loop,
in effect bypassing the heater core. That'll let the water circulate.

At least, that's what the mechanic did on one of my V8s.
