you can also get a variable voltage regulator in a T0-220 case and set it to your own desired voltage. You use a voltage splitter ( tw resistors) anda diode. The complete circuit is generally on the package or in the manufacturers' data book, which assume today is ont he web.
Be careful over-voltaging things. It can cause premature degradation over time.
