It certainly is a nice motor.  Makes for a very enjoyable drive.  In a place
like where I live, where it's 20 miles to the nearest wal-mart or grocery
store, we can often put 20k+ miles a year on a car, so 2-4mpg can make a big
difference.  I'd love Audi to come out with a quattro TDI.
