Removing differential - how to separate driveshafts

REAR differential,the front one is, I think, integrated with the tranny.

1988 90Q, trying to remove differential.  All flange bolts and mount  
bolts are out.  I can't separate driveshaft or half-shaft flanges,  
looks like they are welded solid by rust.  Any tricks?  I'm afraid to  
use heat because of the proximity of fuel lines.
