Tony,
This sounds like a bad ignition switch. The switch center bearing
piece splits and the pice gets "stiff" and doesn't fully return to
the run position after starting. This, in turn, leaves the load
reduction relay activated. This relay cuts off power to most of the
auxiliary circuits to reduce their current draw during start-up. It
is supposed to fall back to the run position which brings all the
extras back to life. Manually turning the switch back to the run
position will usually bring everything back to life. This calls for
ignition switch replacement surgery.
