throttle cable

Hi. I'm struggling with broken throttle cable on my A100 2.3 NF
4spd auto. Any BTDT on this? I have a few problems:

1. Removal: the cable boot is stuck on the firewall. From inside it
has a small switch (?) with 2 wires, no screws or holders. From
outside, it has a big rubber boot, about an inch in diameter, which
doesn't come off either.

2. Is it unobtainium? Family album lists a unique part code just for
this 4spd automatic, it's not used anywhere else. And I know these 4 speeds
are rare. Actually I don't understand why there should be any difference
between manual and auto, throttle body sits in the same place anyway,
and there are no tricky linkages betweeen the pedal and throttle.
