SV: MC2-engine: broken wiring

So in theory, if you disconnect the wire from the ECU temp-sensor, the car
should start but run rich.
Why won't my MC2-engine start *at all* when this wire is disconnected?

When it is "open" the ECU will think the engine is (very) cold.
So you'll get rich running, poor economy, and potential damage to the
catalyst and perhaps OXS.
