5000CS dilemma

The engineer in me says fix it. You have an operating vehicle....a sweet
ride...what more do you want?
Paint was developed to protect metal......it doesn't make the car run
better.
We have a '91 200 20V Avant that was mugged by a transit bus three years
ago. Left rear quarter was pushed in 1.5 feet. A sledge and a come-a-long
with appliance paint and duct tape served us well. Added another 15,000
miles......
Having said that, I'm now taking the time for a proper repair.......whole
new rear quarter about to be welded in. It was a promise I made to the car
if she got us home safely from the last 2,000 mile journey.
PS
You economics should be about how much you'll pay over the next three or
four years on any other car (including depreciation) if you do junk it.
