Timing belt job is a bit $$, and quite honestly if you aren't driving a lot of miles (probably in the 20K+ range) a TDI has a hard time paying for itself on just fuel savings. THey are more $$ to buy than a comparable 2.0, more $$ in maint.

If you want low maintenance and good fuel economy, a Corolla is honestly hard to beat <ducks>

On the A6's, you know what to look for on teh 2.8's. Similar on the 3.0's, but no camchain tensioners to leak. However, they do have head gasket issues on occasion. Also, other oil leaks. But, what VAG engine doesn't?

Hey Folks,
