Blau Struts?? (David Mueller)

Dave;

The Blau strut kit was a symptom of "you-may-as-well-itis" disease. No
issues with my suspension, but I was replacing wheel bearings anyway so...

>From the beginning I had a boing noise on sharp turns. I had it taken apart
and rebuilt on one side because the stut mount rubber appeared to be
tearing, or separating from the metal sleeve. New strut mount was quieter
but I just learnt to ignore the noise...Then the other side did the same
thing and it got progressively louder. I took it in to a race suspension
shop who spent an hour on diagnosis. They saw a point on the strut
cylinders where there were noticeable creases. Apparently, when the wheel
was turning and the strut compressed, it would only turn in increments,
thus the boing.

They put on OEM Audi struts and the rest is history...except for the fact
that the labour and time spent was over $1500. To their credit Blau told
me to send them back for testing and offered me a $200 credit on the
package which was over $400. Nice, but I'm off their critical parts.
