You must keep in mind that the new skyactive 2 liter is a compression
ignition engine. No, I'm not smoking dope, its a 14 or so:1 compression
gasoline engine which primairily uses compression ignition while driving.
It has sparkplugs, yes, and it also uses them while starting and idling and
etc, but under load and such all diseling, although with gasoline :)
Personally, not sure I would buy one at current, as you are essentially
paying to be a guinea pig, but their progress over the next few years with
their skyactiv campaign I feel will make or break that company. Expect to
see some very slippery bodies in the next few years when their current gen
models reach maturity.
However, expect snappy gearboxes, tight suspension and a rewarding driving
experiene to be at the core of their vehicles.
