20v Chump Car?!

Well, you can't acutally bribe your way out of that. You just get penalty
laps to start out with. "We" definately want to keep it relatively fair.
Jay always said he didn't want the guy with teh big checkbook showing up
and winning the race. And, while someone tried this last race (a VERY big
name tuner) his alternator failed with about 2 hrs to go.

That said, swaps are welcome, but if you can't provide a lap time to go
with it, you will be penalized according to the judges thoughts on the car.
The bribes are in many cases just for adjusting the penalties incurred on
track when they come in to pay. They really don't affect the position on
track. But, we are all car guys, and like swaps as much as the next. Then,
we make bets on some of them, how long they will go. At an even last year,
one judge said a particular RX7/5.0 HO wouldn't make 20 laps all weekend.
He was right, it made 14. Three races later, it finally completed, and took
third.

The longest I've ever seen on a tank is just shy of 4 hrs in a Celica "GT
$00" with a stock 22RE and stock tank. The 4000Q went over three hours, but
the drivers weren't quite the "iron men" of the Celica. That by itself is a
huge advantage, though. A Pit takes at least a lap at the tracks I've been
to. most of them take closer to two laps.

Dave, I'd love to hear/see the progress of the $501 200 20V.
