Rear differential mount

OK, so I checked the diameter of the bushing on the car - 64.5 mm (+-). FA
shows these under early 80s Rabbit, 64.4 mm and 75 mm, three part numbers.
I called the dealer and they verified that the 75 mm is obsolete and so is
one of the 64.4 mm ones. However, the third number worked (171-199-214H)
and they were able to bring one in. Unfortunately, the shaft for the bolt
is not in the middle - it's offset quite a bit. Not good.
I checked 034 and found a solid rubber bushing they sell for this purpose
specifically. Called them to verify the size - they tell me that because
there were several variations of Audi castings, they make it 65.4 mm in
diameter so it fits most. I'm thinking, a milimetre too large, it won't
fit. They suggested sanding the opening to enlarge it. Pressing an
oversized steel piece into a smaller aluminium opening may break something.
I don't think I can sand the opening by hand and keep it round - perhaps
oval, but that's risking breakage again.
Any thoughts?
Thanks.
Radek.
