The smog guy next door to my now closed shop cleans 'em all the time,
but I could never get cleaning to work very well, nor last very long.
There is a special MAF cleaner aerosol, don't use carb or brake
cleaner. Frankly, I'd just replace the MAF and be done with it. If you
know someone with a Worldpac account, maybe you can get a deal. If not,
maybe I can help you out.
