I had the fuel tank recall done on my 87. Do you
still have the bad tank?

  The good news is it doesn't appear to be

  that before around here. Worse news. It is under
  the barn because the gas tank rusted up and I
  jacked it up there to replace the tank. After
  purchase of a new tank, and removal of the old, I
  found there is an outstanding recall from 1988. If
  I had driven it to the VW dealer, they would have
  replaced the tank.
