Alternator Belt Adjustment on Audi 100 1990

The toothed nut is hardly ever in good condition, I think the teeth and made of play-doh. You may need to loose the bolt that holds the arm to the oil pump as well as re-adjust the reinforcement link that goes over to the A/C compressor. The alternator adjustment arm needs to be able to swivel during adjustment because the alternator swings on an arc.
