There is such thing as 123, but did you mean 134?
I hear upgrading to a parallel flow condenser helps a lot.
Use Ester oil if any traces of the R12 mineral oil remain.
Probably a good idea to replace the dryer and expansion valve with updated
components. A shaft seal on the compressor would be nice too if you have
the tools and patience.
Maybe a pusher fan on the condenser if you sit in traffic with the AC
running.
Always replace the service port Schrader valves. Get the green ones.
