The FSI is the early one with a timing belt, TSI is the later one with a timing chain, but I think that the A4 never got the TSI. They skipped it and went straight to the Valvelift which is a development of the TSI. That happened with the B8 chassis; AFAIK all B7 are FSI.
VAG has extended the engine warranty for the cam follower problem to 110,000 miles due to the severity. Call you dealer to see if your VIN is eligible.
