Speedo sporadic

I once again tried the usual go-to shop in Denver (Deluxe Speedometer) and had better luck this time. They rebuilt it and I picked it up today. Haven't put it in the car yet but should happen this weekend. 
Cost was $150, and the chap sounded like he knew what was wrong and how to fix it.
I'm optimistic, and will report results.

My speedo came back from Palo Alto Speedometer, and I had it  
installed. I've put ~100 miles on the car since, and so far, so good.
