Headlight interchangeability - UrS6

S6 headlights (unlike S4's) are interchangeable with any 95-97 A6 sedan,
and up to 98 A6 Avants. Everything but the beauty ring and lens are
interchangeable with 92-94 S4's (but not 100s) but you're probably better
off with A6 headlights since they're relatively plentiful compared to S4.

Factory A6/S6 headlights were on sale recently in one of VW/Audi's periodic
blowout sales for well under $100. However, there are a number of other
options if it's just a cracked/damaged lens, since the lenses are
relatively easy to swap.

A common upgrade is swapping in Euro lenses, The 'real deal' Hella lenses
are available from several on line suppliers, but they have been back
ordered lately. Latvian knockoffs are available on eBay and are decent
quality. I also have a couple spare DOT lenses if that's all you need- they
were removed so I could upgrade to Euro lenses. The DOT lenses have some
sand blasting from use but no cracks or chips. It took me less than 30
minutes per light to swap lenses and that was cleaning everything as I went
and cutting some more-stubborn-than-usual epoxy.
