I think it might be the other way around - the melting fuses also melted
a bit of the fusebox plastic, loosening the fit.
I see no problem with swapping in a used fuse panel, just look it over
carefully first.
It's a fun job, did it once on the black 90Q after its fusebox was
abused by a jammed cigarette lighter. There's just barely enough room
to work, and just barely enough wire length on the harnesses below the
box to make it possible.
Luckily the connectors are all color coded, and their sockets are lettered.
