Dang, what a drag. As nice as modern automatics can be (and the 6-speed auto in our Mazda CX-5 is really sweet, with
nice engine braking as soon as you lift off the throttle and timely down-shifts), I still prefer a manual, especially in smaller
cars... Looks like my A4 will need to soldier on for a bit longer.

Coverage of the S3 in the US auto press indicates it will also be auto-only for our market...
As for me, no manual, no Sportback? I'll look elsewhere for my next ride.
