1990 Audi 100 on Life Support

My 1990 Audi 100 tranny blew up a couple of years ago (at 320,000 miles,
with a previous rebuild having been done at 120,000 miles). It went
without a warning, and had been working fine, no signs of anything
potentially wrong. I was accelerating from a stop light and a hundred feet
later, nothing... no gears ... had to coast into a parking lot.
At the time, it cost about $2,600 to have that tranny rebuilt (and with a
2-year warranty that is now gone...), the car presently has 353,000 miles on
it... Tranny works fine. Since it has been 30,000+ since the rebuild, I
had the tranny fluid and filter changed...
The shop I was using here in Plano, Texas (Autobahn), outsourced the tranny
rebuild to someone else...
So, for now, mine is probably the highest mileage 1990 Audi 100 in the
Dallas area (probably the only other old, pre-1995 Audi of any sort in this
area - other than my 1990 Audi Coupe Quattro, which is of course the lowest
known mileage in the country at 69,900 miles...). Funny how I should end
with (to my knowledge) both the lowest and highest mileage 1990 Audi's
(albeit it different models...). You can see them here:

Happy trails!
