Hmm, given that, would asking $1,300 for my 1990 Audi 100 with 351,500+
miles on it be too much? Excellent body panels (no dents), decent looking
paint, very nice interior, recent tranny rebuild (about 40K miles ago),
about $15K+ in work in the past 10 years (including AC compressor, PS pump,
alternator, master cylinder, fuel regulator, the usual hoses, etc).
Nahh... I think I'll keep 'er! With that many miles, may as well drive it
into the ground!

I think I posted that I’d sold the 4kq in late August, but a few more
comments:
Jan Pinkowish emailed me off-list suggesting that I advertise it on
Motorgeek because people on Motorgeek sometimes want 4kq’s for engine swaps.
I ran this idea past a friend who isn’t a lister but has owned and wrenched
on a number of Audis, including at least 2 4kq’s. His take was that with the
availability of A4’s, which can easily be chipped, the engine-swap scene isn’t
what it once was.
I advertised the car on the Audifans list, the Pacific NW list, and
Motorgeek. I got some responses from people whose names I didn’t recognize,
so presumably they saw the Motorgeek listing. I ended up selling it to
someone from the Pacific NW list, but the Motorgeek listing gave me some
more irons in the fire.
I advertised the car for $500 and ended up selling it for $475. It wasn’t in
concours shape, and at that point, my agenda was to get it off my hands.
