It was my post that started this thread. I don't recall how long I have
been on the list. But here is a bit of humor. Back in the mid 90's, I bought a
'90 100 from a "Donation Lot". The price was $450 and marked on the
windshield with "Won't Run". Thanks to the "list" I was familiar with the
driver's key operating the ignition kill without locking the door. I asked for the
key to "check it out". Unlocked the passenger door and crawled in. With no
one looking, it started right up. I relocked the driver's door, went back
to the desk and bought it. I had it towed out, thinking that if I drove it
out, I could never come back.

"Team Door handle" Earlier I had a '86 TQ Avant. When the door handle
finally went, I went to a junkyard to find one. Of the 5 Audi 5K's in the lot,
not one had a door handle left. Someplace in my workshop I still have the
tool I fabricated to lock the crank against the frame to undo the crank
pulley. That is also thanks to the "list". Let it not be forgotten that Audi
used an Oldsmobile controller for the air conditioning.
