Big hose clamp and wobble

Greetings, gents.
A hypothetical, guessing invited.
1st patient is '02 Audi A4q. Issue is LF (driver's side in Canada) outter
CV boot was missing the large metal clamp (1st time seen this, the car was
the PO's wife's). Couldn't find OEM replacement, so fit a large hose clamp,
common type:

It clears nearby parts, when turning. Question is: Would this create
unwanted vibes at hwy speed and would the inertia dislodge it?
I'll find out as soon as the car is insured (winter vehicle), but wanted to
ask anyway.
2nd patient is a li'l Audi's cousin, a Y2K bug, 1.8T, 231K km, my wife's
car. Yesterday as she made a left turn, about 270 deg. on a hwy junction,
it started to vibrate, shake, seemed mechanical. Today I swapped all 4
wheels, didn't find anything lose in the susp., bearings, steering. Still
shakes under acceleration from 40 to 80 km/h, haven't tried above. Coasting
in neutral is fine. Ran engine diag. - only code is for heating circuit of
the OXS behind the cat. converter. Put in another MAF, no change. Was going
to swap in a new ign. coil for cyl. 1, since it had stored a code for
random cyl. and cyl. 1 misfiring, but those codes didn't come back after a
test drive up and down mountains.
The vibe doesn't seem to be in the steering wheel and it feels like
left-to-right shaking, stumped here.
Any ideas, BTDT's, etc. appreciated.
Thanks,
