[s-cars] Brake Pad Warning Light, Permanent Termination

Hi Mark;
If this happened when you changed the pads, the problem is likely with the
wear sensor connectors. I had a similar problem on my '94 S4. The female
contacts in the car end connector had corroded so badly the new pad sensor
connector couldn't make good enough contact to shut off the idiot light. I
had to replace the contacts on the left side connector. The right side was
OK.
It took me a few tries to find this, and it was only due to a brilliant beam
of sunlight falling on the connector that I noticed the contacts I had
meticulously cleaned (several times) were still black inside. Artificial
light just isn't the same somehow :o)
