There's nothing for the 2084 tool to rest against on the AAN engine, Ken. The proper tool bolts to the block.

Subject:	[s-cars] S6 T belt and tools....

I have done timing belt changes on the older 5 cylinder engines, and I
have the crank pulley holding tool used for them. The tool I have is the
2084 tool. It rests aganst the front motor mount on the 4000,5000
chassis and holds the pulley while you loosen the crank bolt.

I am preparing for the t-belt change on an S6 now. The Bentley shows a
different crank holding tool. Can I use the tool I have already? Anyone
know?
