I finaly pulled my IC yesterday to do the 2.0W upgrade and replace a couple
of burned out bulbs. Thought I would note what I found for my 1995 urS6
(build date 06/95):
(a.) There are ten (10) 1.1W blubs with a small hex orange base for IC
illumination. One of them is hidden under the yellow connector for the
temperature display.
(b.) There are five (5) 1.2W blubs with a larger square blue base for brake,
high beam, ABS warning, and turn signal indicators.
(c.) There is one (1) 2.0W blub with a small very light green hex base for
the alternator light.
(d.) There are two (2) 1.5W blubs with a small tan hex base for illumination
of the "picture pannel".
(e.) There are three "blubs on wires" on the far right for airbag,
seatbelts, etc. I do not know the wattage of these.
I got the 893-919-040A 2.0W blubs with the large square green base from Rod
at The Parts Connection. As other listers have mentioned, it was nescessary
to squeeze the contacts a little with pliers to get a snug fit. This wasn't
a problem, they seem to work fine. However, the ideal bulb would probably
be the 2.0W Osran with the very light green small hex base as used for the
alternator warning light. I used needle-nose pliers for removal &
replacement.
I also soldered in a new blub for the temperature display. I would like to
express my appreciation for the excellent instructions on IC removal &
replacement and replacing the temperature display bulb by Frank Amoroso and
Dean Ferrera on www.urs4.com.

Addendum: So how come the alternator light gets a 2.0W bulb when the other
warning lights just get a 1.2W blub? I'm guessing they put in a 2.0 W blub
for the alternator light because if it needs to come on then the electrical
systems has likley dropped from 14V to under 12V... so the higher wattage
is to make up for the lower voltage!
Addendum 2: My brake warning light had burnned out--probably "on" too much
waiting for my pressure accumulator to recharge! Since I didn't have a
spare 1.2W blue square base blub on hand, I moved the 1.2W bulb from the ABS
warning light, then put one the 1.1W bulbs I had removed earlier into the
ABS light. Close enough!
