[s-cars] The full Vermonty tour!

Just to let everyone know that I have never seen that car, never want to
again and to think that it's only a few miles from my house - eeech! Scary.
Anyway, anything Audi should be well in Vermont with the exception of that.

Keith Anderson dropped in on Monday of this last week (he was dropping off
his daughter at UVM) and we dished out our finest Vermont hospitality for a
few nights, loads of good beers, Green Mountain java and dinners before
heading off to Bruno's in NY. I thought that it was only appropriate to blow
off the day from work on Wednesday and give Keith the *correct* Colchester,
Vermont tour. First stop was John Buffum's shop to uncover the ex-Mouton A2
ur-quattro rallye car, the S2 and current open class units. Loads of photos.
Gesh, we musta spent over an hour taking pics of how things were built on
both vintage rallye quattros and new SCCA cars. JB has some very dusty
vintage urquattro parts hanging out and Keith and I both were amazed at it
all. No, we didn't stop by to see the white A6...

Next stop was over to Vermont Sports Car. They do a super job with the new
WRX and they have the experience to back it up. Gave Keith the full Vermonty
there too. Very crafty work.

Keith and I spent hours in my garage fritzing around with parts, talking
shop, looking at my new 993 front brake kit for the //S4 and making sure
that my grille design and lights on my ur-quattro is up to standard. After
looking at how Audi Sport built the grille on the ex-Mouton A2 ur-quattro
with fiberglass and flat black 1/2" wide plastic strips. I think this is the
direction I will take with mine. Single outside H4 headlights, with the
inner H1s cutout and room for a huge intercooler! But for now, here is my
prototype - at least it's an Audi Fox grille grafted on>>>

Hope to meet alot of you at the //S4 fest in CT. For those of you attending
the ex-//S car nationals at Anderson Motorsport in MN I gave Keith a care
