I don't know what caused mine to go, but it was hitting a 'good lick' when it
happened, could have been something thru the filter. The problem involved in
sizing MAF's is the velocity of the air in the tube is greater in smaller
tubes, according to some, accelerating the air to 'terminal wire velocity'. I
think Mike P. shared a computed velocity with me that was very high. When you
run a turbo that flows over 700cfm you have to minimize the restrictions
before the compressor inlet to maximize spin up, only make it work to
compress, not suck more than necessary. Hap has done some type of supersonic
pilot type of ram jet on the front of his turbo which I know has to help, but
I cant figure how to keep water out. And yes the SW work has to be done to
accommodate the bigger tube MAF, the signals are different using the SQ MAF.
That's a layman's understanding of the 'my Mafia's bigger than yours'
question.
