[s-cars] What Are These Noises!

My recently (2 months ago) chipped 95 S6 has gradually
gotten more and more vocal since the change. It now
makes a total of three totally new noises which I am
sure are familiar to some of you veterans. The first
one is a kind of metallic whine/crackling noise that
seems to come from the engine in any gear when ever
the car is revving from about 1800 to 2200 rpm, and
only sounds when the engine is accelerating. I don't
notice any change in the way the power is delivered
though, it just sounds really bad. The second noise is
this metallic clanking that sounds only when I upshift
while pushing the car about 60% or more. It seems to
be some stress noise that is only produced when the
engine suddenly has to go from highest power band
(5000 to 6000 rpm) to beginning of boost (3300). It
really doesn't seem to affect the way the car
accelerates, but just sounds like something is wrong
and might end up really hurting the car later on.
The last noise is pretty typical, although I don't
know much about it, so I'm asking just for the sake of
learning. It's this whoop-whoop-whoop sound that comes
on whenever I lift off the gas under boost (especially
from 1st to 2nd, and 2nd to 3rd). I have heard other
heavily modified Jap cars make this sound before and
have been told it is the waste gate that makes the
sound. Is this true? And what is happening that makes
the noise? Any help on the subject would be GREATLY
appreciated. Thanks.
