Hi Peter:

I forgot to mention some things.

If you notice, the CRB and the V8's are all high
torque engines and still got the MAX. 80% Torsen.
The reason for this is explained below. BTW, it was
discontinued in 1996. The CRB is the last trans with
751 Torsen.

The US market never got the 6 speed V8 or RS2
models and gets a MAXIMUM 65% torque split
because Audi's research indicates that North
Americans tend to floor the pedal when the car
gets stuck (HUH?! This is the worst thing you can
do! All you do is spin the tires and sink into the
snow).

So, in order to keep the torque loads and resulting
torque shock within limits, Audi decided to install a
different Torsen for the US and Canadian market.
