Sorry to hear that, Bob- reminds me of my car stereo install project
two years ago- spent three days straight right after Xmas doing the
install on my car, in 30F weather, outdoors.

When everything was wired and installed, I try to turn the thing on
and.... nothing. I was not happy at all. Went w/o car stereo for nearly
3 months during that time, finally found it was a bad ground after
installing
a new amp.

BTW, BBS RX are known to not be very good in terms of brake clearance.
