Happened on my wife's 1989 100 Avant a couple of years ago.  I didn't bother
finding out how much a new fuel line would cost.  I cut out the bad section
of pipe (about 1") and used an 8" section of high pressure rubber fuel line
as a sleeve (it had the same ID as the metal fuel line OD) and fastened it
with 2 jubilee clips at each end.  Been fine ever since.
