In Chicago, I can't tell you for sure which is the better choice. However,
in Colorado there is no question the 1.8T kicks butt over the 3.0 Liter, and
you get a 5k cost savings to boot. One thing I would highly recommend is
getting one that is about a year old, especially if you decide to go with
the 1.8T. One of my friends recently purchased a 2001 2.7T A6 for 2/3 the
original list price (32k vs. 48k). That kind of savings is worth a few
thousand miles in my mind. Hell, I won't even buy a car that new because
the depreciation is still a losing deal.

Subject: [s-cars] A4 1.8, 3.0 or TL
Since I have tied my brain in knots trying to figure out a new vehicle
for my wife, I thought I'd survey a panel of experts.
I'm thinking A4 3.0, quattro, non CVT automatic, denim blue, blue
leather, all the toys short of "mop n glow" pkg. Would this be the
correct configuration? and geesh, I think such a beast approaches 40 k
+tax!
I'd like to get it by xmas or her bday mid Jan. though xmas may be
difficult.
Then I could save probably 5k + if I go with a Acura TL S type. (260
trouble free hp:)
Or I should wait for a Cayenne?
Any thoughts appreciated.
Cheers'
