Bill-
When I test-drove the B6 chassis A4 3.0q 6-speed, it was around
$42k sticker. This car still didn't have the spt. pkg. but had
everything else (no nav, either).
IMHO, it's not worth it.
If you want a nice car for the wife and it must be automatic, I'd
look for a CPO S4 tiptronic. Will be much less than $40k even for
the '02.
Other car to look at is the A6 2.7T- lots of tiptronics available,
less than $40k as a CPO lease return.
Otherwise, I'd be looking at CPO BMW 540i, Infiniti G35 and G35 coupe.

Subject: [s-cars] A4 1.8, 3.0 or TL
Since I have tied my brain in knots trying to figure out a new vehicle
for my wife, I thought I'd survey a panel of experts. I'm thinking A4
3.0, quattro, non CVT automatic, denim blue, blue leather, all the toys
short of "mop n glow" pkg. Would this be the
correct configuration? and geesh, I think such a beast approaches 40 k
+tax!
I'd like to get it by xmas or her bday mid Jan. though xmas may be
difficult. Then I could save probably 5k + if I go with a Acura TL S
type. (260 trouble free hp:) Or I should wait for a Cayenne? Any
thoughts appreciated. Cheers' Bill M 95 1/2 Avant -loving 0 degrees C.
